It’s no coincidence that Honigum is among the world’s most successful and popular impression materials. After all, this precision VPS material combines two characteristics that are usually mutually exclusive: stability and flowability.
Honigum-Putty tackles these opposing properties exactly where it matters most—for both the dentist and the treatment. Thanks to the Snap-Set technology in the Honigum family, this material combines a comfortable working time with an exceptionally short intraoral setting time.
SNAP-SET TECHNOLOGY:
Developed by DMG, Snap-Set technology allows the new Honigum-Putty to uniquely combine a comfortable working time with a short intraoral setting time. The ample working time minimizes “mixing stress.” Deformations caused by premature hardening are avoided, and faster cross-linking reduces micro-movements (see the “Snap-Set” graphic). For the patient, the shorter time in the mouth provides significantly greater comfort during the procedure.
Honigum-Putty recovers exceptionally well after deformation, ensuring an accurate reproduction of the oral cavity and guaranteeing precise detail capture.
Honigum Light / Light Fast
The rheologically active matrix allows the material’s viscosity to behave flexibly. This means the material can be either stable or flowable depending on the situation. Honigum Light offers this capability in a unique way.
Exceptional Stability
Under low shear stress, Honigum Light exhibits significantly higher values than competitor materials (see graph), demonstrating its high stability. The material remains exactly where it is applied without running or dripping.
Excellent Flow Properties
When shear stress is applied (e.g., when placing the tray in the mouth), the viscosity properties change, and Honigum Light overcomes the supposed contradiction: the initially stable material flows under the preparation margin, ensuring perfect detail reproduction.
